Hosting a Kabob Party is the perfect way to celebrate the end of summer, in all of its glory. There’s nothing like having some friends or family over for some great times and of course some awesome food! So when we got our Brazil box from Try the World, we were super inspired to have a lil kabob party using the items from our box. Here’s a few of our tips for how you can host a killer kabob party that your friends will be talking about for ages!
.) Start with a variety of ingredients – It’s a good idea to have a variety of options so that people have a lot to choose from as far as meat & toppings. We decided to use both beef and chicken for our meats, and zucchini, onion, bell peppers, & tomatoes to ours. You can also add things like pineapple, and shrimp!
.) Sauces – Don’t just focus on the meat & veggies, it’s important to have a great dipping sauce to go with the kabobs. We chose just two varieties, but you can use more or none at all. We think the sauces are a great idea though. Here we used some Queso Fresco Sauce, and some Churrasco Sauce from our Try the World Brazil Box.
.)Season – Not only can you make kabobs with great quality meat, you need some great quality spices. For these kabobs we used some of the Churrasco Mix Brazillian All Meat Seasoning from BR Spices from our Try the World box. Add some spices to the meat along with some salt & pepper, and olive oil.
.) Awesome Table Settings – Since we were heavily inspired by our Brazil box, we decided to take a few items from the box and use them in the layout for our table. They added a great Brazil vibe, plus gave something for guests to try. We also had some colorful towels, bowls for each ingredients, and cutting boards to place the finished kabobs.
.) Appetizers & Drinks – What’s a good party without a few drinks and some appetizers amiright? Try cool and refreshing things like Corn Salsa, Strawberry Lemonade, or Strawberry Guacamole. This will allow your guests to nibble on something while the kabobs are cooking.
.) Food Safety – Food safety is super important. Never leave raw meat uncovered, or let people touch the raw meat with their bare hands (without washing immediately after). Also don’t contaminate the veggies by touching them after you’ve touched raw meat. This seems like a no brainer, but it’s really important to us. We even had some disposable gloves available for guests to use so that everything was nice & sanitary.
.)Ask – Ask your guests how they like their steak cooked, some prefer well done, medium etc, that way you can keep this in mind when you’re grilling the kabobs!
.)Tunes – At any great party you MUST have great music. Spotify is our go to application for all of our sweet tunes.
That’s pretty much it! Hosting a killer kabob party is actually pretty simple. Like everything, just consider your guests, what they like, and most importantly – have fun!
