Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie with Degustabox

Chocolate Chip Cookies are THE classic cookie recipe. I love them, you love them, everyone loves them. Today we’re putting a slightly different spin on the classic chocolate chip cookie by making it into a Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie with our friends over at Degustabox.

To make this recipe today we’re the King Arthur Flour Chocolate Chip Cookie mix that we got in this months Degustabox , along with all of these other goodies. If you haven’t heard about Degustabox, they’re a subscription box company that sends you food items every month to try and give your opinion. A couple of the items pictured will vary based on your subscription. They always have a great variety of items ranging from cooking ingredients, to snacks & drinks. They try to send you a little of everything. I also have to say, the cookie mix that we got, was probably the best I’ve had. I was actually blown away, which is saying a lot.

Now, making a skillet cookie like this seems like an endeavor but it’s really not. You basically make your cookie the mix according to the instructions like you would if you were making normal cookies. The only thing that’s different is you will put the mix evenly into a cast iron skillet, instead of making cookie shapes. This baking mix also suggested to add a little milk if you wanted a more cakey texture, which I totally did. I will also say, you don’t have to use a mix at all. You can break out your favorite cookie recipe, mix it up from scratch, and cook it in the cast iron skillet. (Don’t forget to grease your skillet!)

Once you have your cookie mix all mixed and in your cast iron skillet, you want to bake it in the oven at 375 degrees for about 15-20 mins. You basically want it to be done in the middle and a little brown on the outside. I made mine just barely brown on the outer rim because I like my chocolate chip cookies kind of soft batch style. If that’s not your thing you can totally cook it to where you like it.

That’s pretty much all there is to it! I love making skillet cookies like these because it cuts some time when you’re wanting to make something for your whole family, plus I think it makes the cookie turn out wonderfully! Plus, you don’t have to worry about making those perfectly round cookies, you can just go with a slice of skillet cookie! You can also check out more about Degustabox by clicking the ad below!
