Hot chocolate is a staple of the winter weather & the holidays, but we think it can be a little basic. So this season we decided to take our hot chocolate up a notch by making some Frozen Mexican Hot Chocolate with our Michelin Star Holiday Edition Try the World Box. This is a bit of a different take in that we’re making a frozen hot chocolate, and it’s also a bit spicy – with cinnamon!
You’ll need:
Mexican Hot Chocolate Tabs or 1/2 bar chocolate and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup milk
Ice
(optional : Whipped Cream or chocolate sauce)
To start off we heated up our milk on the stove until it was close to boiling. Then added these Mexican Hot Chocolate tabs from our Try the World box. We used about 1/2 a piece for our hot chocolate, but you can use more or less if you’d like. Stir until all of the chocolate is melted. Once your chocolate is melted into your milk, let the mixture chill in the fridge for about 15 min or so. Once your mixture is cooled, use your food processor/blender and combine ice with your mixture.
Pour in a fancy cup, top with some whipped cream, and serve! For extra flavor you can kind of add some chocolate syrup on the whipped cream, or even along the edge of the glass. Garnish with chocolate shavings or cinnamon.
There you have it, a perfect glass of Mexican Frozen Hot Chocolate, perfect for the Christmas season!
